This is one of the best debut albums I have ever heard! I highly recommend checking out “enough for you”, “traitor”, and “1 step forward, 3 steps back”.

It's just full of songs about heartbreak, and ngl, everything sounds the same and gives the same thoughts over and over.

What did this album give? this album is very much overrated, most of the songs are so shallow. Sour's all about the "aesthetics" and not really about the music. Also, it's trying so hard to be all of Taylor's era at once and fails to tell a story. EXCELENTE.

Dare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. Olivia had a very strong record that was very emotionally charged. The record was pretty short but I will say that I think it was nice having a no skip record versus a 17 song album that you skip half songs. The songwriting was fantastic and obviously, there's room to grow, but this is a very strong album. HighlightsDare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. I truly, truly, truly love this album. I don’t think that any album is perfect but this one comes close. The only thing I would say is if you’re looking for a sonically cohesive album, maybe skip this one. It’s sad how every lyric of brutal relate to me a little too much. The rest of the album displays her range in vocals and genres, but they all share one thing in common. Teenage heartbreak. Olivia did not just say “he broke my heart I hate him” she truly described what he did, how she feels, what she wished was different, how she felt back then, and more. This album is just truly beautiful and I think that it displays how much she is not just a Disney kid! Expand

A short but well done debut album of a girl who is sure to only improve with time and experience. The singles (Driver's License, Deja Vu, and Good 4 U) are probably my favorites off the album, but Olivia's songwriting skills are definitely on display across the board. I can't wait to see what she does in the future!

It's a great to see a Gen Z artist experiment on something other than just sad lofi songs, Nonetheless, the lyrics are descriptive of a teenage girl going through a BPD-attachment issue moment.

effortless album, immature lyrics. about heartbroken sh*ts.
I don't appreciate this kind of album tho. the production is not to great and her voice is so common tho. it's good But not great than what i expect.

Olivia Rodrigo is a good songwriter and singer and although this album is good I just wish she would have changed things up a little. I think the only thing memorable about this album is the records it broke, its unoriginal and in a couple months it will be forgotten.

This album is middle of the road, the risks Olivia takes are risks that have been done by Avril Lavigne, Billie Eilish, Paramore, Conan Gray, Lorre and Taylor Swift in the past. Every song sounds like a rendition of something you’ve already heard with the exception of a few tracks. The writing is decent but feels like it’s trying too hard. Every song sounds like a rendition of something you’ve already heard with the exception of a few tracks. The writing is decent but feels like it’s trying too hard. I listened to this album right after listening to Conan Gray’s Kid Krow, not knowing they were friends. It felt like a blatant rip off of his really decent debut album. ‘Hope your ok’ mimics the same sentiment of ‘the story.’ Other songs don’t just match theme but also sonically such as traitor and Heather. Overall not a bad effort for a debut but nothing ground breaking. Expand

Boring lyrics and it’s all about breakups, when will she talk about something else. The rock type does not suit her and there’s nothing impressive in the vocals. 90% of the songs are copied from past songs.

Her combination of sweet melodies and bitter moods, her conversational flow, and her self-awareness are all skills many songwriters twice her age would love to call their own, and they make Sour a well-rounded emotional journey and strong debut album.

Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.

By the end of the album, Rodrigo has established her voice and showed listeners that she's not afraid to be vulnerable. SOUR is a strong debut that vividly illustrates the beautiful chaos of being inside a teenage girl's brain.
