Oct 30, 2020i love ari, but this just wasn’t it. This is definitely her worst album. i wanted to love it so bad but wow- not good, it all sounds the same.

-
-
Jan 20, 2021It's likely to Thank you Next or Sweetner, nothing new, just 6 song are worth it: Safety Net, POV, Obvious, Off The Table and Just like Magic and Positions... the other are fillers...
-
Oct 30, 2020
-
Jul 30, 2021Repetitive production and boring lyrics. She doesn't exploit the full potential of her beautiful voice on this album.

-
Dec 15, 2020Just the same as TU,N. All songs sound the same, nothing new from her, she could have done better.
-
Oct 30, 2020Great vocals, but a generic R&B from a artist that already had proved that can do so much more than this boring album.
-
-
Mar 20, 2021There are only a few good songs in here. Just Like Magic, Off The Table, Safety Net, Worst Behavior, Shut Up, 34+35 are the only good songs
-
Oct 30, 2020far from Ari’s best but there’s some great songs! A little too repetitive tho
-
Nov 6, 2020Ariana delves into somewhat of a contemporary r&b sound, something she's been playing around for a while. The result? An album not hitting the heights of sweetner or her 2019 effort thank u, next but it is still a smooth ride. The features bar doja, doesn't add much to songs and some of the songs do sound too similar, however, it is still one of the better albums of the year!

Jun 17, 2021Although Ariana Grande goes through a ton of maturing on Positions, she loses most of the charm that made her a good artist.
FAV TRACK: off the table
LEAST FAV TRACK: motive -
-
Dec 11, 2020this album was really underwhelming, i expected a lot more cause it’s ariana grande duh! there are some amazing songs in there. my personal favs are positions, 34 + 35, just like magic and pov but apart from those the rest of the songs are not it.
-
Nov 1, 2020Good album, but not as best as her previous work. Should have been an EP with 34+35, just like magic, my hair, nasty, love language and pov. There are some songs in the album that feel lackluster such as west side and obvious. She releases music so quickly that she it’s just quantity over quality which is a shame. Dangerous Woman is still her best album to date.

Dec 14, 2020After an amazing album, Ariana steps down to generic rnb and proves that a good singer can make medium albums if she slips. 34+35 is forgettable, i couldn't even notice the song changed til Doja started singing and i was like "WTF? This ain't the Doja featuring". I'm deeply sad Ari made something so... average... waiting for the next album!

-
Nov 1, 2020The album showed ariana's vocal ability (esp in my hair, pov) but it didn't fit in to the trap/rnb sound. Kind of the sound is overpowering her voice. The lyrics are average too and sometimes turning me off, especially tracks like six thirty and 34+35, considering she is expected to have artistic growth and lyrical depth as it is her 6th album. She could have done better.

-
Nov 1, 2020the worst ariana album. It sounds way too much repetitive and nothing new. The trap beat in each track was too much used and lack of originality and quality. The lyrics are not impressive, it's just okay. Also the chorus of each song was just repeating the title of the song and that 'it.
Favorites: pov, off the table, positions and sefety net -
Nov 1, 2020Some good songs, but definitely could have been finnessed better if not for the rush release.
-
Nov 3, 2020No artist growth unfortunately, i was so hyped for this album only to be disappointed by the same trap beats she used on the previous album. I'm not asking her to create a second dangerous woman because its hard to top that but i know she could do better.
-
Oct 31, 2020This album is the worst album of year. It’s about only sex. It doesn’t have meaningful lyrics. I don’t like it.

-
Nov 30, 2020Grande's worst album, this was a mess and her single choice were awful as always. Hope she make pop again instead of r&b
-
Nov 3, 2020I feel like this album wasn't necessary for this time, I honestly thought the album would be great but most songs are repetitive in the same tone.
-
-
Oct 30, 2020Album lacks the depth of thank u next. Songs quickly become too similar in sound and lyric. I found myself wanting more depth from Ariana lyrically. The R&B musical style was lacking as it felt like a misplaced rap album with aria light voice. Overall, too many slips. :(

6.30: 4
safety net: 6
my hair: 5
nasty: 5
ws: 5,5
love lang: 5
positions: 5
obv: 5
pov: 8,5
off the table was pretty much ruined by the weekend, kinda liked motive and doja ft. too... liked west side for sm reason & pov the only actually “good” song of the album...
album overall: 5/10 -
Oct 30, 2020Nothing new, q lot of the song sound the same and there’s no narrative, the collaborations are the most joyful of the songs, most of the song find themselves with the same beat and the same lyrics
-
Dec 15, 2020The first single is very good, the music video it's great. The album sounds good but the the songs are too repetitive.
-
-
Nov 28, 2020There's not enough variety in this album for me, the tracks are too similar. Luckily they're not bad tracks and overall pleasant to listen to, but there's nothing about this album that stands out to me. pov is a major highlight from this album - so great!
-
Nov 2, 2020Positions is step back in Ariana's career if we compere it with her previous two albums Sweetener and Thank U, Next which were truly great albums. Album is very cohesive but at some point it turns in monotony. Lyrics are good and personal, production is also fine, but it's just something with this album that doesn't work properly, I'm afraid it will be forgotten quickly.
-
Dec 1, 2020Very underwhelming after the amazing "Thank You, Next." I like the vibe she's going for. I love that it's all about intimacy, but it's very one note. There are a handle of songs I enjoy that I return too: "34+35, Just Like Magic, Love Language, My Hair, POV", but for how long it is there are a lot of skips.

-
Oct 30, 2020Just underwhelming as a whole. Some enjoyable, well-produced tracks, but overall Ari played it very safe here. It gets boring after a while and doesn't have much replay value, lyrics are underwritten and at times cringey, but the production is great and her vocals shine as always.
-
-
Oct 31, 2020
-
Oct 30, 2020Not novel sounds, does not bring anything new and does not explore the great power that Ariana has.
-
Oct 30, 2020It’s a trash and I don’t know how Ariana Grande did this, repetitive sounds, tempo and sexist lyrics. All this time I was waiting for a different style of music from her, but what a pity!

Oct 30, 2020Extremely disappointed with the direction she took with this album. Here’s to hoping for a better album in the future.
-

Oct 30, 2020this album has a good production, Ariana's vocals are amazing like always, but the songs is not impressive or something extraordinary, is kinda repetitive in certain moments
-
Oct 30, 2020The lyrics and the melody is not it. I love her to death but this is probably her worst era for me.
-
Oct 30, 2020Still powerful voice for Ariana and I love her but I believe in such Thank u ,next supremacy
-
Oct 30, 2020pov and obvious are standout tracks that i LOVE but the remaining tracks are too similar in style and sound that the album gets lost in itself
-
Oct 30, 2020VERY LITTLE growth and she's STILL using the same poppy trap beats that at times seems repetitive. Capable of so much more, but fails to deliver. 5 good songs out of the 14 and that's because of some of the features.
-
Oct 30, 2020
-
Oct 31, 2020an alright album but i feel like it has so much fillers. and most of them sound like they could be on tun. but nonetheless it's still good and i appreciate the hard work ari put into this album
-
Oct 31, 2020Although it shouldn’t be a short time of production as the way to evaluate the quality of an album. But the disappointing quality of the album does make it feel like Ari needs more time to complete this.
pov is the best of this album -
Nov 1, 2020It's an okay album. 'pov' and 'love language' are great songs and that's about it.
-
Nov 2, 2020as much as i enjoyed songs like 34 + 35, west side, obvious, pov, etc.. i feel as if the album lacks a good hook for most of the songs, causing it to feel a bit mediocre. overall, still a good album, not her best but still doesn’t deserve the high criticism.
-
Nov 2, 2020Sounds like every Ariana album but more bland. Sorry but she’s had better albums
-
Nov 2, 2020Boring.
Same.
It makes me feel she does music that just costs a lot. She is not a real singer-songwritter. 'Positions''s flop is responsible for producers, the most. -
Nov 2, 2020It is not a good, nor a bad album. But it is a bit monotonous, boring and repetitive.
-
-
Nov 2, 2020I think this album was kind of boring, she can do better that this, however all of the songs are her style, they do give me Ari vibes, it's not a bad album, but not the best she has ever done
-
Nov 3, 2020Ariana is way more talented than that, the second half on the album is good, she probably could go to a jazz style and go in tendenc but she prefered rap
-
Nov 4, 2020Everything Ariana did on this album was taken from her previous works, except now she is lacking the skill of being discrete on sexual topics. It's a power move on one hand to be confident about the body and sex life, but the writing depended on these themes too much, resulting in repetition and laziness.
-
Nov 5, 2020Her vocals are exceptional as always but over all the album is a bore. Tracks blend together and it's missing her usual punch that gets people coming back.
-

Nov 16, 2020I love other Ariana albuns, but this one just doesn't seem that creative.
As always, production and quality are really good, but the songs lyrics, the melodies just seem to be copypastas from "Thank U, Next". -
Nov 20, 2020Grande's lyricism is less than clever, and the production on this album isn't doing her any favors. Her vocals here do not shine as the songs are not as vocally demanding, and this record lacks the self-reflection of a masterpiece like thank u, next.

Nov 29, 2020dangerous woman, sweetener and tun are 100 times better.. this is definitely not her best work, but it has some great songs
-
Nov 30, 2020I love Ariana and her voice is incredible. This album wasn’t her best. Sadly, the songs sounds too familiar to each other and the lyrics aren’t that meaningful. I know she can do better
-
Dec 1, 2020I was a little disappointed with this album. There was a lot of hype around it and the album did not live up to that hype.

Dec 28, 2020Is really a cute a good album with something new in this 2020 and the best álbum of 2020
-
Jan 8, 2021After releasing two of the best pop albums in the last years, Ariana tried to find herself in a bunch of songs that didn't felt unique or authentic. Even that it has some of her best songs to date (Safety Net, Positions, Pov) she fails to deliver artistic growth on it.

Mar 23, 2021Ari has more than this to offer us. Some are good songs but not a good body of work.
-
Mar 21, 2021Ariana Grande has been very predictable with her latest releases, it seems her last 3 albums have the same sound in all the songs and only the lyrics change. Despite that, it brings some good and powerful songs, which stand out in the middle of so many fillers!

Jan 13, 2022This is not a bad album per se. In fact, it's pretty entertaining. However, in the grander scheme of things, i.e. Grande's career, it's very uncompelling. The lyrics are very trite and the music sounds overproduced and unfinished at the same time (it's really weird). Overall, it's actually quite enjoyable and not at all boring.
-
Awards & Rankings
-
Dec 2, 2020Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.
-
Nov 9, 2020Grande laid bare may well be seen as a stopgap in her canon, using taboo to checkmate her past trauma, but it does pull off the rare feat of at least sounding effortless.
-
Nov 5, 2020With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
