It's a good album but too plain and boring. There are no stand out songs. It's cohesive at least but her debut was better.

it's a very simple album, nothing too special, There's nothing memorable, I didn't really like it

The album could have been shorter but İ still think it's a massive step up from her previous album . İt's very cohesive, heartfelt and therapeutic. Hide, How, Fallen Angel, Pieces and Fading Out are easy favs

Ella’s back, yes she does but this time with a brand new skin, she molted. In her first album we could hear the melancholy 90s nostalgia and HOMS has kept the same vibes but it has a inch of a smile, she’s growth and she knows her position, she has the crown.
Probably one of the best album of the year. No doubts.

Kept on the same level as her debut album Ella combacks with different sounds! Heart on my sleeve is a tribute to the 90's sounds. Lyrics are very good and production is on point. It's such a comprehesive album while definetly being not boring. Really good job!

As a follow up to the massive success of her self titled – and only her second full length feature, Heart on My Sleeve does what needs to be done to secure Mai a path to longevity.

The lack of variance in tempo across the hour-long sequence makes Heart on My Sleeve downright torpid at points. All upticks are welcome -- the one with an incongruous Kirk Franklin appearance included -- but slow and low is undeniably the singer's forte.

Pacier than her self-titled 2018 debut, the new album is still too long. But lengthiness suits R&B’s slow-burn tendencies: lingering over syllables and songs, letting new albums simmer.
