Wonderful, rowdy, tuneful songs. Sharp production brings everything into focus. It's a wonder these guys still sound so committed and energetic. Blue vinyl is cool.

Too bad Shrimp is on administrative leave and stuff. But this album rules, great fun and rowdy tunes. Two straight albums of excellence. They are on a roll.

Any doubts that the Old 97's could sustain this creative resurgence are summarily dismissed with Graveyard Whistling. [No. 141, p.60]

The songs are undeniably likeable, their likability almost formulaic, yet still surprisingly retaining a fresh-faced charm.

It’s the work of a band finding complexity in apparent basics, and depth within its play.
