Apr 17, 2020A masterpiece. Fiona Apple continues to be singular. The timing of this release is perfect- as we are all pacing in our homes being slowly swallowed by the stillness of the world. Fiona gives us a way to cope and to punch our way out. What a time to be alive.
-
Apr 17, 2020Fiona never disappoints, this album is a **** masterpiece, raw, beautiful, unique and experimental like everything she does. 10/10 stream fetch the bolt cutters!!!!
-
Apr 17, 2020I knew she was gonna deliver a brilliant album but I never imagined it'd be this career topping masterpiece that is FETCH THE BOLT CUTTERS. Love you like crazy, Fiona. Always a pleasure being able to witness such extraordinary talent!
-
Apr 18, 2020Fiona Apple nailed every aspect to this album and you can tell when listening to this that 8 years away from the music scene can produce incredible art for the future. Apple revived her entire career with this album and there is NOT one track on this album that lacks in lyrical quality, sonic quality, or vocal production. Easily one of the best albums to come out in 2020.
-
-
Apr 17, 2020Simply AMAZING! She's got so much to say and no one says it quite like she does. The music, lyrics and her voice are a perfect marriage of her brilliant art!

-
Apr 18, 2020Brilliant. Raw, powerful, honest, magic. Listening these sweet bitter symphonies non-stop.
-
Apr 19, 2020Brilliant album. After 8 years, certainly didn't disappoint. Amazing writing, production-- a quiet intensity that lasts throughout.
-
Apr 24, 2020Album of the Year... Simply stunning...
I Want You to Love Me is the best track I've heard in a long long time! -

Apr 23, 2020All of her albums hold a special spot in my heart. I wasn’t sure she could top the Idler Wheel, but this album is right up there. She never disappoints.
-
May 7, 2020talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it

-
Apr 18, 2020Simply brilliant and gold, just like i was expecting. Fiona Apple's discography never disappoints you.
-
Apr 22, 2020"Masterpiece" is enough. The perfection: IWYTLM, Shameika, Kick me under the table, newspaper, heavy balloon, cosmonauts.
-
Apr 19, 2020Unique. Artful. Difficult. Experimental. All of that yet utterly listenable. It’s the kind of album you put the headphones on, lay on the floor with the lyric sheet and travel along to. She has called upon the spirits of many genres to create her own. It sounds like it took years to create and a day to record.
-
Apr 17, 2020Just a beautiful album, she really said! You ready mouthed **** and gave of the album of the decade
-
Apr 17, 2020Amazing and iconic! This definitely will be an album remembered and discussed about for decades!
-
Apr 17, 2020An incredible album - more instrumentally extravagant and groovier than Idler Wheel, while matching the same level of experimentation! Every lyric is perfect!

Apr 19, 2020This album is a gift. A difficult, generous, deeply insightful, sublimely rare gift.
-
Meu deus. Chorei ouvindo e chorei vendo o sucesso crítico desse novo projeto, parabéns mamãeeee -
Apr 17, 2020There is literally nothing wrong with this album. How could you not like this! The singing's unhinged, people hitting stuff, bluesy melodies, changeable instrumentation, tempo shifts...amazing!
-
-
Apr 17, 2020An incredible album, the sound of an artist further exploring the boundaries of their creative freedom. Perhaps she's even shattered them.
-
Apr 21, 2020Sheer brilliance. Mesmerizing, challenging, nuanced, simultaneously minimalistic and cacophonous.
-
Apr 22, 2020Its simplicity and experimentation with vocal percussion really paint a clear picture of the potential thoughts and feelings of a creative individual who is trapped or quarantined. It's one of the most accurate depictions of how I currently feel personified into a sound.
-
Apr 22, 2020This is a perfect album i recommend it for everyone a classic. A modern masterpiece. I like the wierd quirky instrumentals that transcribe emotions. And the lyrics were probably my favorite on any fiona apple record
-
Apr 26, 2020Brilliant - will be hard to beat as album of the year. Did not expect to be listening to a Fiona Apple album on repeat this year.
-
Apr 30, 2020Genius; it’s definitely the most difficult of Apple’s albums but upon repeated listens it just keeps getting deeper and more beautiful. It’s fun to try to sing along to. This is is Fiona really being herself and I’m so here for it.
-
May 21, 2020incredible. Her Magnum Opus and is clearly showing her talent. Deserves the 100 it got. A legend.
-
-
May 19, 2020The lyrics, the range in topics, the vocal ability, the beats, the way each song transforms into something new. A brave, cutting, uplifting, absolutely untouchable album.

Jul 9, 2020Actually it`s 9/10. And the Idler Wheel is superior by melodies, more authenticwith more complex and less accessible melodies. New album got so much hype becouse of it`s long awaitning. But it obviosly not3/10 or 1/10 like some left here). Can't understand how patiently someone hates this album and Fiona which appears sooo rare. There might be most wise lyrics written for women.
-
Oct 2, 2020i swear on fiona's dogs i WILL hunt each and every f@660t who is giving this 0s without listening to it just because they're butthurt over this getting an 98 and their favorite basic pop albums barely getting 80s. gaga stans and taylor stans better get the f#ck out of here or im hacking ur account and giving 10s to all of fiona's albums. y'all were warned. it's on sight.
-
Jul 11, 2020It's not an easy listen and doesn't fit fit the current sounds. What you get is a visceral, exciting album that is completely free in the choices it makes. Stunning.
-

-
Apr 19, 2020Empowering. Uplifting. Moving. Human. This album requires close attention. Look up the lyrics, listen, and follow along. Simply beautiful.
-
Apr 30, 2020Honestly one of my favorite albums of all time already. I’ve loved Fiona for years and never has an album seemed so raw and personal
-
Apr 17, 2020She never disappoints, she is the clear reference to say "good thingz always takes time to come out", excellent lyrics and perfect sounds, please Fiona sit on my face

Apr 19, 2020Fetch the Bolt Cutters is a perfect body of work. Apple’s unbelievable songwriting makes you feel you’re with her, right now, in her living room and she’s telling you about all the people who did her wrong. And you just wanna listen. This is a brilliant album and Fiona’s best work so far.
-
Apr 23, 2020This album is genuinely, incredibly rejuvenating. It is a masterpiece that is totally necessary right now, and has messages almost everyone can connect with.
-
Apr 19, 2020A masterpiece lit rally a masterpiece how could u did not listening to this
-
Apr 18, 2020This is such a huge statement as an album. The lyrics are brilliant, incredible instrumental, incredible production, incredible everything. It feels almost like a new statement for music in general, it got too much going on and everything just works incredibly well, nothing like it. It feels like a huge fresh air of a completely original, innovative and refined masterpiece.
-
Apr 22, 2020The lyrics are god tier. Songs flow so smoothly telling her story in a manner which is unheard of. Just legend things for her.
-
Apr 19, 2020Such a good album everything perfect, and al the songs are perfect and so so so good
-
Apr 23, 2020I freaking love this album! It's intense, abrasive, playful and weird. Fiona's voice has never sounded stronger or more confident as vocalist. Her lyrical wordplay is masterful and unique. This is definitely going to be in my top 5 albums of the year.
-
-
Apr 18, 2020After all this time, Fiona is still THE queen. Amazing songwriting and incredcible record.
-
Apr 18, 2020Talented. Brilliant. Incredible. Amazing. Show stopping. Spectacular. Never be the same. Totally unique. Completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.
-
Apr 19, 2020Gem...magnificent...extraordinary...I love the sounds and matches with the voice. Listen to her song Ladies,
-
Apr 20, 2020Her music is unique, raw, free and beautiful! So glad she is back! Fiona is amazing. A genius!
-
Apr 17, 2020Most relevant female artist of the 21st century is back with a poignant, playful and personal album for the ages. Another one, that is.
-
Apr 18, 2020Best album of the year so far, absolutely no doubt about it. Give this album time and your full attention. There hasn't been anything quite like it in music.

-
Apr 17, 2020Entire record is phenomenal from start to finish. Extremely powerful performance.
-
Apr 18, 2020While jarring and sporadic, the atmosphere this album creates is intimate and utterly captivating. On every relisten I am still thoroughly enamored by this album's poetic and artistic prowess. This is absolutely a modern classic. Truly a 10/10.
-
Apr 18, 2020Incredible, different than anything shes ever done and I'm so proud. Love you Fiona
-
Apr 18, 2020Shameika is my jam and I don't even know who that is lmfao. Love you fionaaaaaa
-
Apr 17, 2020One of the best albums of 2020! It’s so emotional and brilliant the way that miss Apple writes her music. QUEEN OF EVERYTHING
-
Apr 19, 2020I want you to love me, heavy balloon, cosmonauts, and ladies are the standouts. Spectacular. She has never disappointed me. Just praying she tours when it’s safe. I’m saving my $.
-

Apr 20, 2020Pros.
Flawless lyrical, album.
Cons
I wish lyrics were included but it's a minor issue. Sequence may make it difficult for 1st timers -
Apr 22, 2020
-
May 12, 2020Perfect album. Definitely the best album of the year thus far. My ears were constantly surprised by the sounds it heard from Fiona and her band. So many twists and turns, so much storytelling, and unconventional sounds and beats. Just delicious.

-
Apr 24, 2020Amazing album that I've not yet listened to
Anyone who disagrees is a big poopyhead -
May 4, 2020Passionate, percussive, perfection! I love this. Every song is fantastic. Particular high points are Newspaper, Ladies, Heavy Balloon, and Shameika. Another classic in a Ling line of classics from Fiona.
-
Apr 18, 2020It's a funny one this, an 8 year wait? Who could have thought we'd get this and all it's greatness, however the record is one of a million for me as I can feel the said greatness pointed out by all these reviews but at some points cannot hear what some of these people want me too, sad to say really...
-
Sep 15, 2020It's a good but the rave reviews felt too sensational. Many solid songs, great production, not a 10/10, must-listen album.
-
Apr 17, 2020It is truly a nice album, with strong lyrics at times. Loved the sincerity she provided and the production she so meticulously took care of.

Apr 24, 2020Great album. Second time listening reminds of Tom Waits Bone Machine and after listening to title track, Fetch the Bolt Cutters, a few times, I am dying to here Tom do a cover!!
-
Apr 28, 2020Fiona apple is an artist that never really can't impress. Even though I am particularly a Hip Hop and Rap fan, I can see the artistry and brilliance of this album. I found the lyrics amazing and insightful. I truly think this maybe be the best album released this year within this particular genre. My only real complaint is the songs could blend a bit better.
-
May 15, 2020Percussion like I've never heard before. Fiona Apple's songwriting ability is on full display, touching on relevant topics with a razor's edge.
-
Apr 18, 2020although i prefer the Idler Wheel..., this is a truly fantastic and unique album with all of the Fiona Apple wit and intricacy. There are exhilarating moments on this record that are hard to come by anywhere else.
-
Apr 18, 2020Quite a good album with a couple of slip ups.
In it's best moments it's just idler wheel 2 in its worst it's unapologetically just boring (luckily is more good than boring).
I'd say this is a 8- or so.
Surely not a 10. -
Apr 17, 2020Creative, cheerful, it has a sound unit, but it is not a masterpiece. I liked the way it was recorded, the improvisations, the lyrics about everyday life. The final product is simply good. Björk has already done better jobs.
-
Apr 22, 2020Why does this have a 100 score when half of the reviews are 100 and the other half less than 100? I put the average at 94-95. Are you using median for some bizarre reason to average the score?
-
-
May 22, 2020A really good album with amusing lyrics. But not a single song is as good as "Every Single Night", and too much of the time she just rambles on not really singing. Overrated as hell but still great if it's your thing.
-
Jul 25, 2020I listened to the album on Apple Music. It's soft and swift omg i forgot what I felt when I heard the songs the first time

Aug 18, 2020Guttural, soft, cacophonous, and poetic, Fetch the Bolt Cutters is a reminder of Apple’s genius and that we are all interconnected, one people, existing in a pulse.
-
Classic Rock MagazineJul 6, 2020Forget the bolt cutters, Apple's already shed her last shackle. [Summer 2020, p.87]
-
UncutMay 22, 2020Fetch The Bolt Cutters is mostly the soundtrack of liberation, not recrimination, with Apple's piano keys, battering on the walls and barking dogs as its percussive, beating heart. [Jul 2020, p.27]
