Jul 27, 2023The result is Georgia's most accessible album to date, although it does feel like some of the unique qualities of her earlier releases have been compromised.
-
Jul 31, 2023‘Euphoric’ sits as a colourful sideways step from a talent we’ve long since learned to cherish.
-
Jul 26, 2023‘Euphoric’ is grand, inspiring and convincing - and feels like summer love bottled up.
-
Jul 27, 2023Even ballads like "Give it Up for Love" and "Mountain Song," while rooted in dance music, have a fresh and organic feel to them that feels equally suited to the dark booth of a nightclub as it does a cozy catch up at home.
-
Jul 28, 2023Punchy, playful and exhilarating, with Euphoric Georgia has regained her artistic verve.
-
Jul 28, 2023There’s a certain power to ‘Euphoric’, but it certainly could have been a much more potent album. It’s a shame, and a missed opportunity: we don’t learn much about Georgia’s new worldview on a record that is, supposedly, dedicated to moving on from the past.
-
Jul 26, 2023The album is also a testament to Rostam and Georgia’s connection: Their musical chemistry is so rich that, on Georgia’s first collaborative album, she sounds more like herself than ever before. As she stitches her own euphoria together, one thread stands out the strongest: other people.
-
Aug 3, 2023Georgia’s willingness to experiment is promising, but it’s unfortunate that Euphoric takes such a predominantly safe journey. As on Seeking Thrills, some songs also succumb to vague lyrics that resemble placeholders.
-
Aug 11, 2023One of the issues with Euphoria is that it’s very pretty, almost oppressively so. The beats and the synths are rounded and smooth like baby-proofing edge guards. The vocals are fetching, as Georgia has a delightful voice. However, she has chosen to sing most of these songs in a demure, modest delivery. So, even though the title promises euphoria, it rarely reaches that high of a peak.
-
Jul 26, 2023The album’s second half leans too heavily on slow, subdued songs, and Georgia’s ostensibly personal lyrics rarely speak in anything but the most general terms. So while singles like “Give It Up for Love” and the title track make for rousing enough dance-pop, It’s Euphoric never quite rises to the promise of its title.
-
Jul 26, 2023Though the album can feel dangerously repetitive at times, slower takes like ‘So What’ act as a reprieve from these moments.
-
Jul 31, 2023The catch is that some passages here feel featherlight and unmemorable; a record about such transformational jubilation deserves to sound more characterful. A surprise sitar solo on Keep On isn’t quite enough.
-
Jul 31, 2023What is also quite impressive about this album is that amidst the dominant beats and densely textured arrangements, Georgia’s presence and her words are never shrouded. Furthermore, her openness and vulnerability throughout is immensely commanding and as you go through the tracklist, you become increasingly curious to hear where she’s at.

UncutJul 26, 2023Georgia's also able to fuse a few different eras of electro-pop to create songs whose high sheen doesn't impede their intimacy or immediacy. [Sep 2023, p.27]
