This album is bad. It is the worst Eminem album. It has some great tracks but in the middle of the album it gets unlistenable.
Best songs: Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers
Worst songs: My 1st Single, Big Weenie

Encore is a personal favorite of mine. You have a bit of everything of what you expect out of early 2000’s Eminem. You have the Slim Shady alter ego reappearing once again in “Just Lose it”, You have the usual Kim relation issues in “Puke”, you have daughter recognition in “Mockingbird”, and rocking club hits like “Encore”. Then you have Eminem revealing a slim shady ego “Rain Man”, andEncore is a personal favorite of mine. You have a bit of everything of what you expect out of early 2000’s Eminem. Then you have Eminem revealing a slim shady ego “Rain Man”, and following “Square Dance”, a more political Marshall Mathers in “Mosh” and “We as Americans”. This is a turning point of Eminem who’s beyond his height of Fame, and is now addicted to drugs, and struggling to see the light of day. Though the middle was redone because of bootlegging of unreleased songs for “Encore”, it had failed to match the energy or amazement acquired by “The Eminem’s Show” or even the first 3-5 songs of “Encore”. Great Album, but could’ve been pushed back a couple months to resolve its issues, or been better off a scrapped album. Expand

Cet album m'a laissé indifférent. Y'a certaines p'tites pépites (Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers), mais globalement c'est bof, voir mauvais (My 1st Single). Écoutable, mais dispensable. 6/10

This is the most inconsistent Eminem project I've ever heard. Usually when listening to an Eminem album, there's at worst 1 song that I'm not a fan of... but this album is an exception. The following songs My 1st Single, Rain Man, Big Weenie and Ass Like That were completely unlistenable, and whilst nowhere near as bad, I wasn't a fan of Evil Deeds, Puke and Just Lose It. The Majority of them are obnoxious sound wise and they range from childish to nonsensical content wise.

However, despite some of the most dreadful and obnoxious songs Eminem has ever released showing up here, there are Brilliant tracks in the form of Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh, Encore and We As Americans. But even the best songs have to suffer from drugged up Eminem's antics, I don't know why this came to be but thank god we live in a reality where Eminem beat his addiction, this would've been a sad finale to his career.

This album sucks. Tt is well reviewd beacuse of name recognition alone. I'm a die hard eminem fan but this is bad. Also because of eminem's success in the first three albums there was no challenge for encore, and with no challenge comes no passion. HeThis album sucks. He surrounded himself with yes-men because why wuld anyone talk crap about eminem he released 3 amazing albums. It just upsets me that some people think this is a missunderstood masterpiece. And the lows of this album are the worst songs eminem ever made. I might even say my first single is one of the worst songs that i've ever heard. If I havo to say something positive Like toy soldiers and mockingbird are very good and just lose it is a guilty pleasure. Everything else is trash. Expand

what a **** show of an album with very small entertainment scattered throughout the album that you have to skip here and there to get to especially the middle of the album being a disgusting mess of trash

Underwhelming and bland album that took too long to make. I understand Eminem had issues with addiction during album recording, but surely it doesn't take that long to make a sub-par album like this. Some highlights include the features with 50 Cent and Dr. Dre which have good lyrics. The Eminem Show was a lot better than Encore.

While this is actually my favorite Eminem album due to how stupid and bad and funny it is, I can't wholeheartedly give it a good review, because I know there aren't many people out there who would want to listen to something like this. My favorite, wouldn't recommend it. Expand

How is this album ranked so high? It is easily his worst album and is top 20 worst album of all time. Every single Drake album and mixtape is better then this steam pile. The reason this isn't a 0/10 is because of Toy Soldiers, every other song on this album is not good.

Encore its a a very good album, but the middle of it is very forgettable, like Puke and My 1st Single. But, with some legendary songs, like Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird, this album is not that bad

Eminem's most overhated album. Let's see if your favorite rapper will be remembered this way in 10 years. Encore has almost 20 years and it's still one of the most streamed rap albums.

Overhated album. Listening to this in 2022 e comparing it to the **** circulating right now makes you feel how bad we have fallen. No rapper outside there can be compared to Eminem. Period.

Half of the songs are decent at worst and fire at best, while the rest are just plain terrible. I know Eminem's drug addiction and the release of Straight from the Lab really destroyed this album, but even then, what was he thinking?

Encore is a massive dissapointment of a follow up to The Eminem Show, & the beginning of Eminem's fall from grace.

    Best track: Like Toy Soldiers
    Worst track: My 1st Single
Best feature: 50 Cent (I guess)

  1. "Encore" is almost willfully uneven: it includes some of the most exhilarating songs Eminem has ever recorded, alongside some of the most inert. [15 Nov 2004]
  2. For the most part, Encore's strained, vaguely sad, regressive wackiness makes a lucid and compelling argument that Eminem should retire Slim Shady and let the real, serious Marshall Mathers stand up and be heard.
  3. Encore is a fourth fascinating record from Eminem, but it's also easily his weakest and, in many ways, tamest album to date.
