Birds heads in a complete different direction than Rodeo, going more for the dark and gritty trap sound with plenty of bangers and anthems (e.g. Through the late night, Goosebumps). SDP is a beautiful interlude with exceptional production, like all tracks on the album.
Lyrically, there isn't really that much to this album except the reoccurring themes "drugs, woman, alcohol", but that didn't really hurt my listening experience. And of course you have to accept the heavy use of auto-tune which is used in a very effective and enjoyable way in my opinion.
Only three tracks I didn't enjoy as much as the rest: Lose, First take, guidance.
All in all a very good album, Travis didn't let us down!

One of the best albums to turn up to. Hype was justified, strong AOTY prospect.

Highlights: the ends, way back, through the late night, goosebumps, wonderful

I can't believe how good this album actually is, the beats are on a level I haven't seen since TLOP and perfect mixture between turn up party songs, and more personal and social influential tracks.
The way he creates a track using only 6 words in the entire song and it's still super heavy and the collabs with cudi, cassie, nav, kendrick are amazing.

can't beat travis scott, hes established himself as an artist who can make party anthems as well as tracks regarding social commentary. This album cements him as one of the top rappers in the game

There should be a disclosure on the album that states: Drugs and alcohol needed to enjoy said album. Travis Scott is a vapid industry planted rapper with no talent on the mic or on the production side. He barely produced any track on this album, yet he is suppose to be top notch producer. His lyrics are trash, yet he is suppose to be taken seriously as a rapper. 5/10

Bruh, this album is for hardcore Travi$ Scott fans, you can't even feel the energy if you're just another second hand listener. The vibe of this album is 100% true Travi$ and it tells no lies. It has none of the sophisticated, false and forced sounds on it. Travi$ stays true to himself and to his fans and that makes it the #1 album out right now.

It's Lit!!! Once again Travis Scott has created a fantastic Sophmore album called Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. The production is dope, the beats are great, and Travis improves his autotune lyrics. I love all the songs on the album, especially Goosebumps and SDP Interlude are a work of art. This album is a big step up to his last album. I highly recommend it.

77/100. Scott puts together an album full of party-worthy anthems. "Through the Late Night" and "Goosebumps" are easily the best songs on the album, and there are many more to mention. Listen for yourself.

This is NOT leftovers from Rodeo. Travis Scott comes close to matching the masterpiece that was Rodeo with fantastic features, great production, and solid bars. I spat out my milk when I saw Kendrick hopped on the album. The only con for me is the lack of a theme for the tracks.

This is the kind of stuff that Travis excels at. Birds has sleepy, melodic, gritty tracks and very solid delivery from $cott himself. All the features are great, especially Cudi and Kendrick. 8/10

If you listen to Travis Scott for dope lyricism then I'm not sure why you even listen to Travis Scott. Travis Scott should be listened to for the vibe and atmosphere he creates. This project simply has great music laid out through a very cohesive project.

Although this album is a definite step down from Rodeo, Travis still has come through with a solid project of trap bangers which are very replayable despite the weak lyricism in places. Highlights are Coordinate and Pick Up the Phone.

The production at times is mesmerizing and Travis makes you feel his music as always, but it does feel cobbled together and sort of like a B-sides compilation of Rodeo. I would rate this as his worst album, but there's still times here where Travis shows off his indisputable musical genius.

Rodeo got by with Travis's ideas and personality. This gets by more with Travis's flow and voice.
This album is obviously not as artistic as Rodeo, but its impossible to get these songs out of your head.

Not as good as Rodeo or Days Before Rodeo in my opinion so if you're new to Travis Scott I recommend starting with one of those projects (Probably Rodeo) But I still found this album to be quite enjoyable.

Best songs: goosebumps / way back / the ends

The lack of lyrical prowess in birds is more than made up for by the stellar production. The album is also very cohesive, which makes it great for listening to it repeatedly.

One of the best mumble rappers in the game makes a really solid album. I love the tracks "wonderful", "through the late night", and "goosebumps". Worst tracks tho are "outside" and..."sweet sweet"... *vomits* 8/10

Travis once again attracts us in his bouncy trap and psychedelic colourful universe. And he is far from being alone to craft this interesting piece of work. Tons of producers and dozens of collaborating singers. As always Cashmere Cat, Mike Dean, CuBeatz and Hit-Boy's presences as producers and writers are part of what made this record inspiring and ever-changing.

On the other side, singer artists made a questionable job. Kid Cudi on 'through the late night' delivers one of his best hmmms verse and chorus. Some may totally dislike it but it has some deep effect on me. With Travis they remain a solid and surprising duo. Can't wait to hear them work together more often. As expected, NAV's part on 'beibs in the trap' is more than underwhelming. I really can't get why this song is so popular. NAV's vocals and vocal performance are awful, lyrics are the dullest of the whole record, and please note that Travis is far from being an inspired and original writer. Definitely could have been better without it. 21 savage on 'outside' is great but his voice is just overly modified, make it sound really fake, almost robotic, lifeless. I guess it may be the point but it's a no. Kendrick contributed to make 'goosebumps' the iconic banger we all know. Did we need that lame house remix during quarantine though ? Don't think so. The Weeknd is just himself on 'wonderful', nothing new to expect here sadly, excepted Travis' performance.

The rest of the tracks benefits from some highlights here and there. They fuse almost perfectly into each other. But unfortunately if the package is terrific to discover and to listen once, I have to recognize that the wow effect quickly decreases after some listens. Subtract it the many guests, the autotune and its gritty soundscape and 'Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight' becomes a totally different album, empty of any prowess.

Birds in the Trap is Travis's second album. You can defenitely tell there was a downgrade compared to Rodeo. First of all the instrumental: now, let's not say it was bad, because it wasn't, but it was very generic, especially for someone like Travis; here, it surely doesn't get the same value of Rodeo, but probably Travis wanted to emphasize more the rapping and his voice. However, one thing that Travis got for sure on this album were the features; Andre 3000, Kid Cudi, Jeffery, Kendrick are just some of the big names present on this project.
Surely, there isn't any lyrical progress compared to Rodeo, but most of the tracks still remain catchy.
Overall, an album full of bangers, which, although doesn't have any storytelling nor innovating sound, is still is a good project, with the music suitable for hyping up a party.
But, for someone like Travis, still this remains a generic project, not gonna lie. It is good, but it could have been a LOT better.

BITTSM is easily one of my favourite albums of all time; the production is excellent, with the beats taking on a darker and murkier sound, while retaining that signature trap-headbanging sound that Travis Scott is known for, helping Travis Scott achieve in hyping up the listeners.

Looking at the lyrical side of the album, there isn't much to be impressed by; don't go listening to this

Looking at the lyrical side of the album, there isn't much to be impressed by; don't go listening to this for some deep, thought-provoking lyrics, 'cause you're not gonna find them. They quintessentially revolve around drugs, women, and sex. That being said, rapping along to the lyrics is fun.

Looking at the features, the album is packed with them. Highlights include: Andre 3000; 21 Savage; Young Thug, etc,,,

All in all, this is an excellent album, if you couldn't tell from my score. Give it a listen if you like trap music.

Birds In The Trap Sing Mcknight is a dark trap album with deep production. Listening is enjoyable and not particular difficult. The work is full of featuring, some are very greats like Kendrick, 21 Savage or The Weeknd, others are disappointed, NAV is an example. The end is that BITTSMK is a solid second studio album by Travis Scott.

Birds has a versality between the songs, a lot of features, it also shows a dark side of Travis. The album contains one of the best opening tracks in the whole hip-hop industry and a awesome ending + hits like goosebumps with Kendrick Lamar and pick up the phone with Young Thug and Quavo. The instrumentals on point, its still my favorite album of all time. Its deserves more hype tho.

Swarming basslines and sluggish beats likewise form the rhythmic foundation, with gauzy and tickling keyboards adding sweetness to Scott's hedonistic hooks. Only on "Guidance," through scuttling drums granted by DF, is there a significant shake-up.

There isn’t a ton of lyrical progression for La Flame on this album. ... But he soothing digitized finish and woven through the most polished contemporary drums in Hip Hop, it’s truly hard to hate. That puzzling beauty is the best part about Scott’s music.
