    I don't really understand the critical acclaim this album has received, it's easily her worst. There's no hits on here such as Don't Stop the Music, Umbrella or S&M... really boring album.

    By the end of Anti, Rihanna may not arrive at any definitive conclusions about her art but she's allowed herself to be unguarded and anti-commercial, resulting in her most compelling record to date.

    Anti is a deeply personal album to me. It took my a while to understand it, but once it clicked... I honestly felt like I was falling in love for the first time all over again. There's this deep scene of longing that pervades the album, as is Rihanna was reaching out for a lover who wasn't yet who she needed them to be. But I get the feeling like non e of that ever stopped her from lovingAnti is a deeply personal album to me. It took my a while to understand it, but once it clicked... I honestly felt like I was falling in love for the first time all over again. There's this deep scene of longing that pervades the album, as is Rihanna was reaching out for a lover who wasn't yet who she needed them to be. But I get the feeling like non e of that ever stopped her from loving and reaching out to this person even when they refused to respond or keep in touch, like a part of her would always love this person. I just hope that she got what she wanted in the end. Maybe that's all I want.… Expand

It's against the rules of what a pop artist can do, agraist the rules of what an album should sound like, against how a woman in the industry should look like. It's against all the typical rules of what an artist should follow.

This album is supposed to be anti-pop, that is the typical strategized pop album where she aims to be more experimental in order to stray away from the expected pop sound and structure but she takes us to a place we've been before and it's just tired. This is the same rebellious, talk that sh*t/talk, unapologetic, good girl gone bad attitude from her that we'veMore of the same from her.     One of the most mature and completed albums bi Rihanna. It showcases her involvement in the lyrics, and the production is a great turn away from the pop dance production she did in her last albums. I did fell like this album had some highlights and low points, and some of the lyrics still felt generic to me. But it's an improvement, and I'm curious about Rihanna next steps in music.

    Rihanna went full 180 on this album, straying away from her previous pop sound, and going with an R&B infused sound. And it sounds amazing. Her voice fits this sound like a glove. Tracks like Love on the Brain, Higher, and Desperado are adored by a mass amount of fans; while also bringing in numbers with tracks like Work and Needed Me. This visuals for this albums fit perfect with theRihanna went full 180 on this album, straying away from her previous pop sound, and going with an R&B infused sound. And it sounds amazing.     Rihanna took complete charge of her sound and this album is so so good that it's 2021 and we're all still waiting for another taste of her music. Higher, Close to you, Kiss it better, Love on the brain and Never ending (even though any track is worshipable) are the proof that Rihanna just keeps evolving with every album she puts out. I'm very surprised this album does not have at least 85+Rihanna took complete charge of her sound and this album is so so good that it's 2021 and we're all still waiting for another taste of her music. Higher, Close to you, Kiss it better, Love on the brain and Never ending (even though any track is worshipable) are the proof that Rihanna just keeps evolving with every album she puts out. I'm very surprised this album does not have at least 85+ or 9.0... Work was kinda trashy but the only tracks i disliked were on the deluxe version so i'm genuinely confused, but still everyone needs to listen to this album.… Expand

    Her best album and one of the best albums of all time. It mixes R&B, rock and soul. My favorites are Needed Me, Kiss It Better, Same Ol' Mistakes and Love On The Brain.

Split into halves:bad **** vs. sad **** she does slow down commitment to complete the listen as the second half can feel bloated and has a generic moment in the well intended forgettable "never ending". The coverart is so ampt*a photo of a young robyn fente with a large crown covering her face on a white background with red splashed through. Seems like a depiction of rebirth or even the alchemical child of legends said to represent the mystic nature of change which is what this album does effectively. Pop will never forget the moment where it's own royalty tore at the machine that ran her,took a victory tour then vanished from the music before we could process her impact. My first listen of this record felt uncomfortable. I liked experimental music but i think entering a record by an artist like her who has expectations attached to her LP's seeing the liberties taken felt so overwhelming.
