The jokes spill forth so fast that there’s no time for the shtick to get soggy.
Unfrosted is a bonbon, a truffle, a trifle and a distraction from dispiriting news and disappointing drama upon which one can gorge as if it were a package of Fig Newtons. No, too healthy: Honey Smacks.

If Pop-Tarts are barely a breakfast, Unfrosted is barely a movie — but it’s sprinkled with solid gags, stuffed with super-silly guest appearances, and lovingly glazed in sweet ’60s trappings.
This Pop-Tart material has legs. Unfrosted is by no means a failure. But it’s also about as satisfying as a soggy bowl of cereal. Loaded with his famous friends, Unfrosted is fitfully funny, depending on who’s on screen.
Oh, well. Perhaps the best response to junk food is junk cinema.
Unfrosted is one of the worst films of the decade so far.
It’s not about nothing, but it is nothing special.
This is a silly comedy that doesn't take itself serious at all. It's the fictional retelling of how the Pop-Tart was invented. It has a star-studded cast, with whom each pull off their roles very nicely, and it was a fun time, but it is not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. In the same vein of silliness of movies like Naked Gun or Airplane, this movie has a lot of spoofs and gags in it, most of which land. I told my wife that while I had a good time with it, it is not a movie I will probably ever watch again. Turn your brain off when you go into this one, and you will have some cheesy fun.

Unfrosted had a lot of potential. There's a great premise with many clever ideas and a talented cast. However, the clever ideas weren't wrangled into an entertaining story. The milk mafia, diva Tony the Tiger, dumpster diving kids being the source of insight, the corporate battle for dollars by marketing to children are all great ideas with promise but the final execution has a nutritional content similar to the pasty this story is about.
I looked forward to this and even gave it a second try but I was done after the cow gauntlet...
There's an opportunity for a great story here but unfortunately they miss the mark and that may be the most frustrating aspect.

Very very disappointing. It was like a stand up comedy movie with terrible jokes. I googled the real story and it was far more interesting.

I tried to like it because Seinfeld. But the plot, the jokes, and Amy Schumer... Why would anybody put Schumer in their film? Netflix advertised the film with her face in my region. I am unsure if Netflix is aware how unpopular Schumer is. But Schumer aside, as critics and viewers pointed out, this film is like a wet and slow fart. Not worth your time. We gave up soon (and there has been nicely written company history films in recent years).
