Most of the game is well put together and engaging and when it finally reaches its pinnacle, with the bosses and the Sky Tower, it becomes a compulsory addictive game.
SwapQuest is an example that shows how easy things work really well, thanks to mechanics that fit perfectly into the genre. It is perfect for casual players, with elements that enhance the experience of solving puzzles without falling into excessive difficulty as other similar games.
SwapQuest overall is a success, albeit a pint-sized one. It effectively fuses two unlikely genres into a unique and engaging experience.
For those looking for a game to engage their minds over a couple of days or evenings, SwapQuest fits the bill very nicely.
SwapQuest is a bright and breezy release that's well suited to the PlayStation Vita. We didn't especially appreciate the release's decision to make us rush, but there's an appeal to the simplistic gameplay that will keep you venturing the land of Aventana – especially if you've got a bit of time to kill.
So you may want to take my criticisms with a heaping dose of salt. Just in case you don't, however, be aware that what lies ahead of you is going to be a rushed-yet-slow-moving experience.
SwapQuest is a mix of puzzle and RPG gaming that fails to provide a fun experience with either.
