The Mary Tyler Moore Show first aired in September of 1970 and was a breakthrough of sorts with women's liberation. The Mary Tyler Moore ran for seven years on CBS and was one of the most popular and acclaimed sitcoms of the seventies. 2. Junjou Romantica

Junjou Romantica is an anime that follows the lives and loves of three shonen-ai (boy-love) couples. The stories are divided into 3 groups: Junjou Romantica, Junjou Egoist, and Junjou Terrorist. The first couple is Misaki and Akihito. It is the story about Misaki having to live with his brother's childhood friend, Akihito. Akihito is completely in love with Misaki's older brother, so he would do anything he asks of him, even if it means putting up with his idiotic, little brother. But, after Misaki's older brother gets marries, how will Akihito deal with the heartbreak? The story continues will Misaki consoling Akihito, but sometimes consoling turns into romance. Also, there is Hiroki, another one of Akihito's childhood friends, who is very in love with Akihito. The problem is, Akihito doesn't think of Hiroki in any way other than friendship. Luckily for Hiroki, he meets Nowaki. Nowaki stumbles upon the heartbroken Hiroki and asks him to become his tutor. As time passes, their relationship grows, but can Hiroki ever truly get over Akihito? Then there is Miyagi and Shinobu. Miyagi is a coworker of Hiroki, and he never misses a chance to tease him. In turn, Hiroki messes with Miyagi about his divorce. Miyagi doesn't really take it to heart, though, since he wasn't really in love with his ex-wife. He was somewhat happy to have her out of his life…but her little brother, Shinobu, wasn't letting Miyagi escape him. Shinobu believes that Miyagi is his "destined partner", and he refuses to let Miyagi get away…

At first, DuckTales was intended as a 1-hour network series. However, when Bob Jacquemin, head of the studio's newly formed syndication unit, learned of the series, he realized that it had the potential to be his first hit. After immense internal lobbying, Jacquemin convinced Michael Einser to let him have DuckTales, and in doing so, he virtually reinvented television animation. One of the first decisions he announced was that Donald Duck would play a minor role in the series, for the emphasis this time was going to be on Uncle Scrooge and his three nephews. To explain Donald's absence, the writers had him enlist in the Navy after leaving his nephews with Scrooge. The studio also created some new additions to the Disney stable. They may seem like trouble, but they are always there for Scrooge when the chips are down.Launchpad McQuack - Scrooge's pilot Launchpad is somewhat disaster-prone. Launchpad is mistaken for a spy, in Double-O-Duck. Launchpad was created for this series, but went on to act as Darkwing Duck's sidekick in the spin-off of DuckTales - Darkwing Duck, as well as appearing in an occasional comic book story of his own. Launchpad may not be the brightest character in DuckTales, but his loyalty is unquestionable and he is an important member of the DuckTakles team.Gyro Gearloose - Duckburg's greatest inventor. Scrooge often calls upon Gyro when the Beagle Boys try and break into his money bin, although Gyro's ideas often backfire and he ends up aiding the Beagle Boys. Interesting note: Carl Barks (Gyro's creator) used used Gyro frequently in the comics as did other writers and artists involved in the Duck comics. Gyro himself wasn't a duck, in fact, his exact species is never specified, although it's generally assumed (and confirmed by Barks in interviews) that he's a chicken. Mrs. Beakly - Mrs. Beakley is the only one who can tolerate Huey, Dewey and Louie's bad behavior and exert some level of control over it. Cold Feet is about three couples. Adam Williams (Systems Analyst; James Nesbit) and Rachel Bradley (Helen Baxendale) start the series about a year and six or so weeks into their relationship. The pilot shows this couple coming together. Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Pete Gifford (John Thomson) are a married couple that start the series with the birth of their first child. Karen (Hermione Norris) and David Marsden (Robert Bathurst) are another married couple, and when the series starts they already have a child, and are thinking of having another. The three couples end up friends after going through the "friends of friends" process. Jenny, Pete and Adam are friends, and Adam's relationship with Rachel pulls Karen (Rachel's friend) and David (Karen's husband) into the friends relationship.

The world is in danger! Only five ten-year-old kids and 1 who loves show are our only hope! Problem: Adults have become tyrants over kids. Solution: five kids decide to change that for themselves and the world. Join these five kids and 1 lover of knd (known by Numbuh 1, Numbuh 2, and so on) as they battle evil ranting (yet determined) grown-ups, candy pirates, their arch Nemesis, the Delightful Children from Down the Lane, their Father, a man of fiery powers and that was once known as "Mr. Wigglestines" and his many minions (such as Numbuh 5's older sister, Cree and ex-operative Numbuh 274, Chad). But they also have to deal with havoc amongst themselves... Characters: Numbuh 1 (Nigel Uno): Numbuh 1 is the bold leader of the group, hands down. With a fear of bugs and hate for the beach, he still can be the ultimate leader (he does have a girlfriend, and skill of thinking up great tactics and defense) and spare some time for an ice cream! He is the second youngest of the Kids Next Door. Numbuh 2 (Hoagie Pennywhistle Gilligan Jr.): With a skilled mind and knowledge of a buhzillion, Numbuh 2 is definitely the master in the building department. Also, with puns and jokes like that, what's not to love? He is the third oldest/youngest (In the middle) of the Kids Next Door. Numbuh 3 (Kuki Sanban): Hugs and Rainbow Monkeys are just as sweet as Numbuh 3 herself! Known as "The Flirt", this Asian does seem to hit the soft spot of most. However, she may be out-of-it at times, but when you mess with something she loves, you have to pay the price with a she-devil. She is the youngest of the Kids Next Door. Numbuh 4 (Wallabee "Wally" Beatles): Yes, his nickname ("The Tough Guy") does serve Numbuh 4 well. He sure has a knack for letting his actions speak, therefore making it easy as to what he's about to do. Though, underneath the hard shell, he has that soft spot (though doesn't show it) for people he cares for most. And some would say the person really up there is a certain happy girl. He is the second oldest of the Kids Next Door. Numbuh 5 (Abigail "Abby" Lincoln): Numbuh 5 would be put in a different crowd from the rest... This laid back girl always keeps her cool, yet sometimes can get a little impatient. All else aside, she is probably the guardian angel of the group, guiding the others, while not getting in the way of everyone's jobs. She is the oldest of the Kids Next Door. Numbuh 86 (Fanny Fulbright): Head of Decommissioning, defeat teenagers and adults, boss some kids around, this girl could do it all. Numbuh 86 is sure not only hardcore, but like Numbuh 4, soft on the inside. She may have a love for Rainbow Monkeys and thinks Numbuh 4 is pretty cute, but don't let that get to you. No matter what, she'll do her duties as decommissioning teens. Lizzie Devine: Lizzie is the infamous girlfriend of Numbuh 1, her Nigie. She was annoying at first, but the team has realized it could be much worse. Lizzie is the over-protetive type of her boyfriend and sometimes, jealous, but, she always is there to help Numbuh 1, even if she has to crash a couple of ships. Tommy Gilligan: Tommy looks up to his brother, Numbuh 2, and wants to be just like him. Of course, his love for his brother matches the amount of how much he annoys everyone... On the upper hand, he would make an excellent operative! If he can, that is... After a battle, he had to sacrifice his own membuhship to defeat the adults. Mushi Sanban: This little girl is almost exactly like her older sister, Numbuh 3. With the cuteness of a bummillion, she can just as easily get guys as her sister, "stealing" her "man", King Sandy. The Delightful Children From Down The Lane: The Delightful Children From Down The Lane are the KND's arch nemisesses. Working for their Father (see below) they are raised (or made) to give and serve the adults. But most kids, however, think they're creepy, for they talk and walk, and do just about everything as one. Father: Probably the most evil guy on the earth to attack the KND. Father is a conniving and scheming grown-up who happens to be the father of the DCFDTL (the Delightfuls'). He is bent on destroying the KND for interrupting his plans on adults ruling the world. However, he is no match for the KND! Cree Lincoln: Numbuh 5's sister, ex-operative Numbuh 11 (the best of her time), and one of Father's top worker is all Cree. She has it all, skills, knowledge, and a very suductive kiss, which Hank (who is Numbuh 2, teenagerized) has experienced first hand, she is an amazing teenager. But that's just it.. she's a teenager, working with the other side. Chad: Like Cree, Chad is an ex-operative (Numbuh 274, who, also, was the best), and he is also working with Father. He, too, has the skills, and the perfect kid--now teen--(in an adult's eyes), but he gets made fun of once in a while... for wearing a bra, which is really BRA (Battle Ready Armor) that can help him beat up any one and change into any one. Numbuh 362 (Unknown real name): She's the girl with the class and everything. Highest ranking, she is like president of the KND. And of course, she is one chick that Numbuh 86 admires. Of course, she tends to be rather annoyed with 86 easily. The Kid: Not much is known about this guy, but he sure makes Numbuh 2 want to beat him at everything, making him...basically, Numbuh 2's rival (even if he had to work with him). It also seems he likes to make other kids want to rival him, because he sure has Numbuh 4 on a knot for having a "fling" with Numbuh 3... Various Villians: Here's where you could start snoring because a long list of people ((Cough-Adults-Cough)) are coming your way! The list includes Mr. Boss (sort of the "Villian Leader", other than Father), The Toilenator (who just tries too hard and yet gets nothing), Sticky Beard (sort of Numbuh 5's rival, due to the candy-stash), The Cat Lady (self-explanatory), The Common Cold, Count Spankulot, and a whole lot more! They just keep on comin'! DNK: The Destructively Nefarious Kids. They're totally the opposite of the KND! Living in the opposite world (which entrance is through Numbuh 4's pool), everything and everyone in there is quite opposite of the KND's world. All the DNK are known as the "negatives" (i.e. Negative Numbuh 1, Negative Numbuh 2, etc.), and their names backwards. Luckily, by the end of the KND's journey to their world, they agreed to a truce that resolved their answers. Although, it makes you wonder if there would be more of the DNK... Rainbow Monkeys: Yes, they may not be characters, but are very important to the KND in many ways. Every girl couldn't live without them, and Numbuh 3 certainly wouldn't have her stuffed-animal filled room. Also, they are just as real as the KND themselves, but only a certain Asian girl would know. The Hamsters: The KND wouldn't, and couldn't sustain themselves with the power from the hamsters! They provide energy (like electricity) and can help with moving big things.

8. I'm Alan Partridge

Alan is a self-obsessed DJ who has had several TV jobs in the past (including chat show Knowing Me Knowing You) and has failed to bounce back from his long dead career. Each episode normally sees Alan resorting to embarrassing anecdotes, insulting someone without noticing and failing to revive his career. In Series One he lives in a motel after a divorce leaves him homeless. Between promotional films for Norwich firms and his early (3am!)radio show, we see Alan ineptly flirting with the receptionist and sneaking larger plates into the breakfast buffet. By Series Two he has 'upgraded' to a mobile home next to his partially built new home and can't avoid delaying the builders' work on the house with his pedantic requests.

In a lost age, the world is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Within each nation, there is a remarkable order of men and women called the "benders" who can learn to harness their inborn talent and manipulate their native element. Bending is a powerful form combining martial art and elemental magic. In each generation, only one bender is solely capable of controlling all four elements. That bender is the Avatar. The Avatar is the spirit of the world manifested in human form. When the Avatar dies, it reincarnates into the next nation in the cycle. Starting with the mastery of his or her native element, the Avatar learns to bend all four elements. Throughout the ages, the countless incarnations of the Avatar have served to keep the four nations in harmony. Then, the Fire Nation launched a war against the other three nations. Just as the world needed the Avatar the most, he mysteriously vanished. A hundred years later, the Fire Nation is near final victory in its ruthless war of world domination. The Air Nomads were destroyed, the Air Temples ravished, and all airbender monks eradicated. The Water Tribes were raided and driven to the brink of extinction. The Earth Kingdom remains and fights a hopeless war against the Fire Nation. Many believe the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and the cycle is broken. In the desolated South Pole, a lone Water tribe struggles to survive. It is here that the village's last remaining waterbender Katara and her warrior brother Sokka rescue a strange 12-year-old boy named Aang who has been suspended in hibernation in an iceberg. The Water tribe soon discovers that Aang is not only an Airbender--the extinct race no one has seen in a century--but also the long lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard the child Avatar in his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation. But I believe, Aang can save the world. The show retains the same opening theme through the second and third season. All three opening themes are voiced by Mae Whitman as Katara.

Based on the manga series of the same name created by Hideaki Sorachi, this show is a Japanese animation that takes place in Edo, Japan (former name of present day Tokyo). The Amanto, aliens from outer space, have taken over the country. The Amanto have suppressed the samurai's resistance by imposing a sword ban. Sakata Gintoki is one of the few remaining samurai. Along with Shimura Shinpachi, and an alien girl named Kagura, Sakata and his friends act as freelancers, taking jobs to pay for their rent. 11. Xavier: Renegade Angel

Xavier wants to find out who he is and where he comes from. From his serpent arm to his backwards knees, beak, and six nipples, Xavier is different from most. Although Xavier means well he is often causing trouble wherever he goes in Xavier: Renegade Angel. The show is created by PFFR's John Lee and Vernon Chatman, the creators of MTV2's Wonder Showzen. PFFR is a band that John Lee and Vernon Chatman are in. PFFR also has 2 more members which make appearances in the show. Jim Tozzi is one and he plays the main character, Xavier. The other is Alyson Levy and she makes guest appearances in the show.

18. The Jeffersons

The Jeffersons first aired in January of 1975 on CBS as a mid-season replacement. The series was a spinoff of All in the Family in which the Jeffersons were Archie and Edith Bunker's next door neighbors. In 1975, The Jeffersons moved on up when George found success in a dry cleaning business. This allowed him and his wife, Louise and their son Lionel to "move on up" into a spacious high rise apartment. At the beginning of the series, Lionel was attending college and graduated in February 1976. He married Jenny Willis in December of the same year and they had a daughter in 1979, Jessica Jefferson. Other members of the cast include, Tom and Helen Willis were upstairs neighbors and also Jenny's parents. Florence Johnston was the Jefferson's sassy maid who was hired as a part-time maid in the first episode but in October 1976 moved in and became a full-time maid. Mother Jefferson was George's fiesty mother who forever put Louise down but deep down loved her. Harry Bentley was the British, next door neighbor. Besides being quite eccentric and forever borrowing things from the Jeffersons, Bentley worked as a translator at the United Nations. In 1981, Bentley was written out as being transferred to Russia, but returned in 1983. Ralph was the building doorman who forever begged for tips from George and the other tennents in the building. Tom and Helen Willis were controversial characters since they were most likely TV's first interracial couple. Helen was Louise's best friend and they ran a Help Center which opened in 1977. As for Tom and George, it took the entire run of the series to develop their love/hate friendship. The series was unceremoniously pulled from the air with no warning, so the cast, bitter that they never got to shoot an appropriate finale episode, later reunited for a theatrical stage play. Sherman and Isabel also reprised their roles as George and Louise Jefferson on a couple episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the mid-90's and have most recently reprised their roles on Denny's commercials.
